Take a stroll around the old town’s streets, one of the best-preserved Gothic quarters in Europe, and discover its beautiful Majorcan squares and courtyards, starting with Plaza del Cuadrado, a square just 150 meters away from Brick Palma, continue then to Plaza Mayor and its surrounding streets, or to Plaza de Santa Eulalia. Walking is the best way to find some of the most charming streets in the city, such as Portella or Almudaina. Lose yourself in the city’s streets and alleys to find its true essence!

La Seu and Almudaina Palace

Santa María’s Cathedral, also known as La Seu, is one of the most emblematic monuments of Palma, a Gothic-style building on the banks of Palma’s bay that offers a unique picture of great beauty. Behind it you can find another great monument of the city: the Almudaina palace, which once was a Moroccan palace.

Bellver Castle

Or get to the Bellver Castle by taking a small bike ride and enjoy its original circular-plan architecture and the magnificent views it offers, of both the city and its port, and the Tramontana mountains.

In the markets of S’Olivar and Santa Catalina you can delight your palate with fresh products and original flavours, from the most traditional to the most innovative ones, through international and fusion flavours. In the surroundings of Santa Catalina’s market, which is located in the old fishermen’s quarter, you will also find lively streets and alleys full of restaurants and shops to explore.

However, if you rather go shopping, we recommend you take a stroll along Paseo del Borne, Jaime III avenue or the streets of San Miguel, Colón, Sindicato or Jaime II, where you can find the most renown brands, in addition to some of the most sophisticated and elegant. In the area you will also find coffee shops for a short break and even some art galleries. Discover the loftier part of the city!

La Lonja

Located by the promenade, discover this gorgeous Gothic-style building, which used to house the Merchants Guild and admire the statue of the Guardian Angel over its entrance or the stone palm trees that hold its vault. Walk around the surrounding street and discover how they are full of restaurants and bars with a very special atmosphere.

Promenade and Portixol

Visit Palma’s promenade and enjoy the views of some of the most emblematic monuments of the city. At night you will find here some of the best and most luxurious nightclubs in Palma, music of all kinds and the essence of nightlife. During the day, it becomes instead a quiet area where you can walk, ride a bike or skate. We recommend reaching the lively and picturesque Portixol, where you will find a wide gastronomic offer by the sea.

Parque del Mar

In front of the promenade you will also find Parque del Mar and Dalt Murada promenade, which is part of the city’s old defensive wall, and enjoy the beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea from its top. If you go a little towards the city you will reach the Jardí de Bisbe or the Arab baths.
